Unlikely!
BMI (Body Mass Index) has been used for a long time as a standard measurement to see if you are the correct weight for your height.
Recently, researchers at the Commonwealth Institute claim that BMI incorrectly classifies people as Obese using the BMI scale.
Dr. Richard Telford, (who has been at the Institute for 25 years) says the common measuring system is inaccurate as it doesn't take into account body shape, age and muscle mass.
Finally, someone who makes sense! - Fuse has long believed that this is the case, as everyone is different. Not only their muscle development, but also their bone structure has a dramatic impact on weight.
Scales also don't know the difference between muscle and fat... so what do you do?
The simplest method is to use your clothes as your gauge. Use the same pair of pants and top to help you feel whether you are losing "size". Exercise and manage your calorie intake, and then put them on when you feel you are winning, to see if you are right.
